Our nearest break out front is Playa Hermosa, an excellent place to learn to surf, improve your surfing skills, or have a blast as an advanced surfer. With its constantly breaking waves, this beach offers conditions for beginners or advanced surfers at any tide.

If you want to enjoy the best waves of Costa Rica while you live a pure surf experience in contact with nature, El Chante Surf House offers you the opportunity to live this experience. Our surf house is located in Playa Hermosa, Santa Teresa - Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, one of the more consistent spots and with better waves in the area for surfers at all levels.
If you want to travel alone or with your friends, you can enjoy your experience in our friendly house, with delicious food and chill vibes. Share a week with other surf travelers from different parts of the world and us while you learn or improve your level of surfing.
Our surfing program, run by surfers for surfers, is a perfect mix between surf, yoga and nature in a family-style atmosphere. Even if you have never gone surfing before, or you are an intermediate surfer you can enjoy a real surf experience while you live with other surfers and explore our natural surroundings.
We offer you accommodation in a comfortable double room with an air conditioner, private bathroom, hot water, and high-speed wifi.
El Chante is only 4 minute walk from the beach, surrounded by nature with all that you need to get fun and relax (full kitchen, terrace with pool, BBQ, ping pong, and yoga area).
Take Surf Lessons with our professional and highly motivated instructors, who will accompany you during your stay to improve your level of surfing and learn more about this sport, in addition to Surf Guiding for Advanced surfers. They will help you to choose the best waves for you.
Enjoy every morning fresh and delicious breakfast and delicious dinners every day in a chill atmosphere.
We also offer two yoga classes during your stay to get a relaxing moment for your body and your mind.
Our package also includes photo shooting and video analysis for you to make the best memories and improve your surfing in Costa Rica.

We are El Chante Surf House, established in 2012. It had always been my dream to open a small, family and friends-style surf house; where everyone comes together to share their love for nature, surfing, and travel with new friends.
Thanks to the help from my father, who I couldn’t have done it without, El Chante was born. Being able to have my hotel in an area with year-round waves for all levels beginner to pro, surrounded by nature, waves, good food, and good vibes and to be able to represent my country, Costa Rica, it's a dream come true.
I love to share my knowledge and passion for surfing, and I can’t think of a better place to do that than Santa Teresa, where the jungle and ocean meet together to create our little paradise. El Chante, which in Costa Rican slang means your favorite spot or is also used to refer to your house, is our favorite spot. We also love to support local businesses and keep our beaches clean. We do beach clean-up projects and the town recycling program and also support the local surf community and contests.
