Nicaragua has some of the most beautiful waves in the world, such as the Boom, The Island, Nahualapa, and many more accessible waves either by car or boat. There are a variety of waves to suit all skill levels.

We will seek out the best waves daily, from smaller, rolling waves for beginners to the heavy barrel and overhead waves for advanced surfers. From the beach to point to reef breaks, we have all types of styles of waves to maximize your experience.

The main season for pumping waves is in April - September. The dry season (Oct-March) can still have fun waves but is less consistent. Advanced surfers will most likely want to come in the wet season, while beginners can come anytime, and we'll get you into some friendly waves.

The adventure

Many come to Northern Nicaragua to surf solo on some of the best breaks in the world but stay because of the warmth of its people and the generous hospitality throughout this untouched region. Each day we plan our surf destinations based on the forecasts for the best conditions to meet your skill level. You will have the best waves tailored to your skill level.

The cuisine is unparalleled - a week with us will be spent eating locally grown vegetables, freshly caught seafood, and tropical fruit prepared in traditional Nicaraguan style. We’ll be nestled in a small community of locals, many of whom are family members and close friends who help to provide a welcoming and authentic experience.

While the surf is great, there is so much more to see in my beautiful country. During your stay, you may also find yourself hiking picturesque volcanoes, watching the sunset over tidepools, taking boat trips, rum tours, doing yoga, dancing at salsa night, and more.

A stay with us begins with a pick-up from Managua International Airport by a friendly local driver who will bring you to your accommodations at one of our partner resort locations. We can customize your trip to your surf level and desire to explore local experiences.

For those desiring to advance their surf skills or just beginning to surf, we offer daily surf lessons, including video analysis and photographs to help deep dive into specific focus areas. If the conditions permit, we can offer multiple surf sessions each day. We will provide transportation to all surf locations and daily adventures.

From the Boom to Nahualapa to secret surf locations to surf boat and drive trips (as desired), we seek out the best daily surf spots to satiate your needs. When you’re not surfing, you can enjoy craft cocktails (or mocktails) with a view, volcano boarding, yoga, a massage, horseback riding along the beach, and more. Your trip will be just as much about integrating with the local community as it will be about riding some of the warmest and best waves in the world.

As a local, it brings me pride to enthusiastically share my country with you and provide the best experience to keep you coming back for years.

The food

One of the best things about Northern Nicaragua is that we have been able to maintain a local experience for guests to enjoy its untouched natural beauty. Many of the people in the community are family members and longtime friends, which allows you to quickly integrate and experience the warmth of its people through the eyes of its locals. Aserradores is a fishing town with delicious seafood that the ocean offers us, such as fish, shrimp, lobster, etc. We are grateful that we can also grow our food, like rice, beans, corn, and much more.

The culture

The cuisine is unparalleled - a week with us will be spent eating locally grown vegetables, freshly caught seafood, and tropical fruits prepared in traditional Nicaraguan style. We offer chefs and local cooks who can cook for you at your lodging location. They use local ingredients and strive to meet all your dietary needs. Some of our clients even enjoy picking coconuts off trees as a post-surf refreshment. At our Northern Nicaragua location, there is a weekly salsa night featuring salsa taught by a local salsa instructor. When we’re not dancing the night away, we can enjoy sunset drinks at local restaurants with captivating views of the beach or toast at family-owned bars.

Accommodation

Our lodging options will vary from ocean front properties, to bungalows tucked away between the trees, to rooms situated in the heart of the town. It is our goal to provide options that fit your budget and group size. Drop us a line for more details!

Melky Chávez

My name is Melquing Chavéz, but people call me Melky. I was born in Aserradores, which is one of the most northern points of Nicaragua on the pacific side. I started surfing at 15 years old while working for a top-rated multinational surf retreat organization.

For 10+ years, I have been a surf coach and local guide, sharing Nicaragua’s exclusive surf breaks, the exquisite natural habit, and local flavor. As the founder of one of the few locally owned surf retreats, I can integrate clients more intimately with the community and provide access to unique experiences. Helping my clients find success in the water brings me personal joy.
