The Surf Experience

Whether you’re looking for beach breaks, endless mellow walls, or the perfect wave to learn how to surf, you will find the best surfing spots here in the South of Portugal. The west of the Algarve is situated next to the Atlantic Ocean, bringing us waves year-round.

In Algarve, every day is a possible day for surfing. According to the Portuguese tourist authority, the Algarve has the best waves in Europe. And, we can show you that!

We've been working in the Algarve for the past 30 years and we're confident we are the best and most enjoyable surf school. All abilities are very welcome! A typical day consists of meeting at the main Surfhouse at 8.30am.

We then load the trucks and head out to the beach for the day chosen by our instructors each morning. We are lucky to be able to work on the quietest, friendliest, and most beautiful beaches here in the Algarve.

Once there, we will split the surfers into groups based on their ability levels, from absolute first-timers onwards. Whilst the lessons are underway, we will also provide individual one-on-one teaching when it's needed. If your surf level and the conditions require a split to another surf spot, we make this happen when possible.

In your surf lessons each day, we will work on your progression and take you to that next step - whether it be standing up for the first time, catching your first green wave, or developing confidence and technique out the back.

We aim to reach your individual goals and focus on progression through enjoyment. Typically, we will do two sessions of 90 minutes on either side of lunch, depending on the tides and conditions. We will deliver the best possible lesson with the conditions of the day.

Lessons are given by our friendly, fully qualified team of male and female instructors. You’ll usually return back to the Surfhouse between 3-5pm.
