The Thaa Atoll picks up a lot of straight south to southeast swell and in stable weather conditions, makes for an enjoyable ride. You will get consistent surf and pristine barrels. Medium-sized waves are the go. Finnis and Mikado are just some of the stand-out spots to enjoy fast waves and speedy barrels.

The months of February, March and early April are the best for beginners and people looking for a nice and sunny vacation. However, for those looking to score the best surf conditions, the later part of March and April are the ideal options.

The lodge

Thimarafushi is one of the inhabited islands located in Thaa Atoll, which is rich in culture and tradition with a vast amount of beautiful scenery. The daily activity of the locals is fishing, and fishing enthusiasts adore the island as a great place to catch yellowfin tuna and Blue Marlin.

Thimarafushi is the authentic experience of the Maldives with a handful of guest houses on the island, white beaches, a beautiful lagoon, and an amazing sea life. Whether it’s a solo trip, a honeymoon, or a family holiday, everyone will find here their own piece of paradise.

The life on tiny islands on turquoise glass water and waves bumping across the white sand is as dreamy as a fairy tale. However, every possibility of dreamy tropical life can be experienced on a local island where there is nothing but peace and harmony of waves crashing and the wind blowing with pleasant vibes.

Thimarafushi is a heavenly place where locals welcome tourists with an open heart. You will feel the essence of a remarkable amount of kindness and decency in every step you take closer to the locals and their traditional lives.

Stay Mikado offers luxury and affordable accommodation, which is the best on the island. The guest house has twelve standard rooms and two family suites.
