Praia da Pipa's surfing fame started in the 70s when surfers explored different places around the country to practice surfing. This is a really special place, with waves that reach 8 feet high. Surf is best during winter (from June to September), with bigger swells and waves. Even though that is the best time of the year for advanced surfers, this region is a year-round surf destination!

Pousada Catavento da Pipa was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 by TripAdvisor, the largest travel site in the world. Located on the main avenue between the white sands of Praia do Centro and Praia do Amor, Catavento has 22 comfortable apartments, Wi-Fi, a swimming pool, bar, and a pub with snacks and covered parking.
We have two swimming pools in our leisure area, a green area with sun loungers, providing the perfect climate to relax and cool off.

Our rates include a delicious and complete breakfast in a cozy atmosphere overlooking the pool. Paula, a merchant, and her family have been working in the hotel industry in Praia da Pipa since 2001. Pierluigi is Italian and an artist from a family in the construction industry. They were the creators of the project and responsible for completing the work on Pousada Catavento da Pipa. Marco is the couple's son and a source of inspiration.
Combining experience with willpower, they created the Pousada Catavento da Pipa. Pousada Catavento was built in parts, in different stages of expansion. Celebrating its 13th anniversary, it is constantly improving, always innovating and investing in new ideas to ensure good service and compliance with environmental standards.
Every corner of the inn is thought of with a lot of love, and every detail brings a good memory: works by local artists, trips, gifts from guests, etc.
Respecting the culture, customs and traditions of the local population. As well as preserving the environment and providing employment opportunities, the Catavento inn follows its principles, with simplicity in the way of working and receiving.
