Cabo has surf for all levels. Absolute first-time surfers can do lessons in comfortable slow waves. Advanced surfers can find barrels and super long walls, but most spots in Cabo suit the intermediate-level surfer.
Amazing 300+ yard waves, that allow for easy take-offs and long Malibu style sections but in a true uncrowded wave.
Cabo has 2 coastlines that work in both summer and winter, so there are waves every day if you know where to find them. Some of the best waves for helping to improve your surfing level exist in Cabo, with perfect long walls allowing for multiple turns and plenty of speed.
Warm water year-round and minimal crowds.
Cabo is branded by many as all about fishing, tequila, golf, and nightlife, but the real jewel of Cabo is the World Class Surf spots that exist just a short 30-minute drive out of the hustle and bustle. 300-yard long point breaks, very little crowds, warm water, and one of the most beautiful drives to find them, where the desert meets the crystal blue Sea of Cortez.
Our surf trips are completely catered, so you don't need to bring anything. We can provide private sessions or group sessions. We will bring additional coaches to offer a coach to surfer ratio of no more than 1:3, depending on the surfer experience level. Coaches will be in-water with guests the whole time to assist in positioning, coaching tips if requested, and general safety.
We have over 20 years of coaching experience to help you improve your surfing faster and vast knowledge of the region to ensure you get to the best waves in comfort and safety every day!
One day with Surfing Cabo San Lucas
We will meet you at your resort/hotel/villa and take the 30-minute drive up the desert coastline where you'll see point breaks of uncrowded waves, one after the other, with just the wild donkeys, horses, goats, and cows for traffic.
Travel time can vary from 10 minutes to 1 hour drive time, and then typically 2-3 hours of in-water surf time. We bring all equipment necessary for the surf trip and generally look to depart early morning to get the best conditions.
We'll find the best waves each day to suit your comfort level, set up our umbrellas and chairs on the beach, so non-surfers can enjoy the beautiful water and beaches while we go surfing.
Once surfing is over, we return to the hotel and can assist with any requests for recommendations for places to eat, visit or experiences Cabo has to offer. Feel like you're a million miles from anywhere, yet only a short drive to Flora Farms and some of the best restaurants in Mexico.
The culture
Cabo blends the beautiful Mexican culture of warmth and welcoming people with the sophistication and comfort from servicing decades of international travelers. Unique geography with 2 coastlines, the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean, create a perfect location to surf year-round waves and tons of sunshine. It's the ideal location to surf and enjoy with very little localism and a welcoming vibe at most surf spots.
Food, drink & social scene
The food, art, and bar scene in Cabo is second to none. Cabo boasts some of the most sort after restaurant experiences in all of Mexico, with fresh fish, local farm-sourced fruits and vegetables, and many high-profile chefs residing in the region.
The Organic Farm-to-table experience, Flora Farms is well known and is a must-do for any Cabo vacation. The popularity of Flora Farms has created an expansion of other Farm-to-table experiences, with some rivaling the original, including Los Tamarindos, Acre, and El Huerta.
The sushi, ceviche, and any catch of the day entre in Cabo is always a winner, with the abundance of fresh seafood, and the tacos, of course, are excellent - try La Lupitas for the best gourmet tacos in town!
Thursday nights in San Jose hosts the "Art Walk," where artists open their doors, the streets are closed to traffic, and you can cruise the streets with a margarita, wine, or beer, checking out the art stalls, live music, and street performances. Follow that up with cocktails at the rooftop bars and your morning surf will be the perfect hangover cure.

My name is Matt Lindsay and I was born in San Francisco but grew up on the Gold Coast, Australia. My passion for surfing started at a young age and progressed into working in various roles in the Industry. I have a Bachelor of Education and worked as the State Coaching Director in Queensland, Australia, helping to teach up-and-coming coaches the skills to be effective beginner through to elite level athlete coaches.
I have been responsible for coaching many of today's elite-level surfers, including a few World Champions, and I love most the enjoyment of helping beginners and intermediate-level surfers to take those big steps towards improving their skills.
Travel and surfing have always been my driving force, and I love to help others to enjoy finding new destinations and waves while developing their surfing skills to make the most of their surfing vacations.
My travel experience is extensive, surfing all over the world and being a coach in the Maldives, Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, Australia, England, Indo, and the Canary Islands.
I currently reside in Cabo, Mexico and love helping others to experience this amazing place where tons of empty warm water waves are on offer year-round if you know where to go ;-)
