Hossegor is one of the most famous and consistent surf breaks in France. Surfing is best between May and October when the winter swell and spring tides calm down and the water is warmer. From September to October, the waves start getting bigger and there are fewer crowds.

If you are looking for big barrels, the time to visit is between November and April, when the surf is best for advanced surfers.

The Hôtel de la Plage is an emblematic place in Hossegor. Indeed we have been present for more than 20 years on the Place des Landes and want to offer our customers a total immersion at the beach with its various activities while raising awareness among our environmental students.

A location with your feet in the water to make the most of the ocean and for the bravest, direct access to the legendary/mythical waves of Hossegor (the North spots just opposite and La Gravière. A family establishment that promotes proximity and listening to its customers and service.

The possibility of not using your vehicle during your stay because the beach hotel is only 10 minute walk from the city center and its shops. And you can also enjoy the kilometers of cycle paths on the coast by bike.

Shopping, the many stores (all the surf brands are represented, but also the big names and our famous multi-brand boutiques where you will find all the big names in ready-to-wear), the halls and the famous market are located in the center of Hossegor, only a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

The Surf School

The manager, Guillaume, will now be able to share his experience and his passion with you via his new surf school within the hotel itself. Benefit from a unique formula with direct access to the beach and the ocean.

Invested since 2001 in the local life of Hossegor, we will be very happy to make you benefit from our vast network in order to put you in touch with companies offering leisure or sports activities, such as stand-up paddle, yoga, jet skiing, golf or even tennis.

Benefit from a home school where you will walk to go surfing. The school is exclusively reserved for the customers of the Hotel de la Plage, therefore made up only of small groups and allowed a better quality of teaching and favors safety.

Indeed, accomplished sportsmen and internationally recognized in the world of surfing and jet skiing, Alexandre was decorated with the title of free ride jet ski world champion in 2017 and Guillaume Mangiarottti, a former professional surfer with a well-filled track record, is now a free surfer. and hunter of big waves.
