Surfing in Portugal is every surfer’s dream: there are countless world-class surf spots around here. From beginners to professionals, Portugal has a surf spot for each. The surroundings of the SaltyWay surf camp are blessed with numerous of them.
In the area around Sintra, there are a lot of beaches and breaks, which are ideal for surfers of all levels. From ingenious beach breaks to endless point breaks to challenging reef breaks, you will find a wide selection of different waves.
Between the months of March to November is the best time to join us. We surf in Praia Grande during summer and during autumn and spring in Praia Carcavelos, where the waves are usually smaller.
Our Salty Way House is a beautiful place in Praia das Maças. Here you will find everything you need for a comfortable surfing or climbing holiday. The house has three floors, several bathrooms, a kitchen and a large living room with sofas and fireplace for cozy evenings in the house.
The house has a huge garden with BBQ, pizza oven, outdoor kitchen, and yoga sun platform. Internet, coffee, and tea are free of charge.
Located only a three-minute walk from the beach. For surfing, we go to the neighboring Praia Grande. The location of the house is ideal for a holiday in Portugal because just as fast as on the beach, you are in the center of Praia das Maças. There are cozy bars and cafés, small shops, a supermarket, and a farmer’s market with fresh fish and vegetables from the region every morning. Two minutes from our front door, a bus will take you to Sintra if you feel like sightseeing. The neighboring Praia Grande is only a 15-minute walk away.
Our tip: Praia das Maças is also famous for its 18th-century red tram, which takes you through a picturesque landscape to the historically and culturally famous city of Sintra (about 45 minutes).
