Chancletas is in the secluded region of Northern Nicaragua, near the town of Chinandega. There are very small towns with ranchers and mostly dirt roads along the coastline in this rural region. This is classic, old-school Nicaragua.

Chancletas is directly in front of the world-class beach break, "the boom". Surfers come from all over the world to score this spot and there's no better place to stay than here. The other surf spots are abundant, but hard to get to. That's where we come in. We'll be taking off-road vehicles and boats if we want to explore.

The main season for pumping waves is in April - September. The dry season (Oct-March) can still have fun waves but is less consistent. Advanced surfers will most likely want to come in the wet season, while beginners can come anytime and we'll get you into some friendly waves.

The lodge

Set on a breezy hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Chancletas is nestled next to a sleepy fishing village, in front of the most legendary wave in Northern Nicaragua - we remain the only resort on the Boom Beach. The coastline is shaped by an estuary mouth to the south, where sailboats and fishermen pass, and a rocky headland full of shells and tide pools to the north.

Our amenities include air-conditioned rooms, exclusive access to the beach and famous surf breaks, gated resort security, pool with cushioned lounge chairs and deck shade, highspeed wifi, bocce ball court, corn hole, backup electricity, and once a day maid service. There are also surfboard repair shop services available.

Food

Our restaurant serves a fusion of local and American cuisine based on what is fresh and in season! We are also happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions you may have - just let us know ahead of time! Our meal plan for resort guests includes a pre-surf continental breakfast, hot breakfast, lunch, & dinner with dessert.

Activities

We offer additional tours and activities, such as surf excursions, professional photo/video services, volcano trekking, stand-up paddleboard tours, fishing, horseback riding, massage, yoga, and more. All activities are available for an extra fee.
